You will receive a set of vouchers-according to the number of hotel nights you booked, a map of Cuba showing location of Horizontes Hotels, and a brochure containing program details and useful tips. You will also get a voucher for renting a car at the rental agency offices in the city. This voucher shall be produced at the car-rental office to make it official.
When you finish the program, you can return the car to any of the car rental agency offices in the main cities or previously listed airports, regardless of your point of arrival. You will need to specify all the information in your reservation request.

Car Rental
Please find below each company's rental conditions:
Havanautos (Daewoo Lanos, Daewoo Nubira or Toyota Tercel).
- All-risk full insurance: US $15.00 per car per day. Insurance cover includes total or partial theft (except sound equipment), collision, overturning and disasters. In case of accidents, it covers damages to third parties and car.
- Non-mandatory insurance. Uninsured customers will be required to leave a cash or credit card (CABAL, VISA, MASTERCARD, not issued by US banks) deposit of US $500.00. Insured customers are required to pay US $250.00 as guarantee.
- Unlimited mileage.
- Full 13 gallon (50 liters) fuel tank (gas charges: US $0.90 per liter, to be paid by the customer when picking up the car.
- Price of gas at any station: US $0.90 per liter.
- When returning the car, fuel remaining in the tank will not be bought back.
- Second-driver (other than renter) supplement fee: US $15.00 (single payment).
- Minimum age required for drivers is 25 years. However, drivers between the age of 18 and 24 may rent if they pay a US $5.00 fee (single payment).
-Only people mentioned in the rental agreement are entitled to drive.
- Rented vehicle must be returned by renter on the same conditions it was delivered upon rental.
-All conditions as established by the car rental company regarding maintenance of the car at the appointed mileage have to be respected. Viajes Horizontes can not be held responsible for any incident caused by the violation of the regarding clauses in the agreement by the client.
Transautos (Hyundai Accent or Mitsubishi Lancer).
-Compulsory insurance at US 10.00 per car per day covering theft, fire, overturning, damage caused by natural disasters and third-party risk. In case of an accident, it is imperative that a local police report be made. If the hirer is responsible for the accident, there will be USD 350.00 deductible upon presentation of the report made by either the police or the TRANSAUTOS damage experts. In case the client does not have such a report, he will be responsible for all damages. The insurance does not cover tires nor audio equipment.
-A USD 250.00 deposit is required, cash or credit card.
-Unlimited mileage.
-Full tank (50-60 liters). Fuel at USD 0.90 per liter, to be paid by the client when returning the car.
-No refunds will be made for gasoline remaining in the tank upon return of the vehicle.
-Minimum driving age is 21 years. A minimum driving experience of 1 year is required.
-Only people mentioned in the rental agreement are entitled to drive.
-An additional charge of USD 3.00 per day for a second driver (besides the person who signs the rental agreement).
-All conditions as established by the car rental company regarding maintenance of the car at the appointed mileage have to be respected. Horizontes Travel Agency can not be held responsible for any incident caused by the violation of the regarding clauses in the agreement by the client.
Rex (Audi A3).
-Comprehensive insurance (CDW) at USD 20.00 per car per day, covering total or partial theft, collisions, overturning, damage caused by natural disasters and, in case of an accident, damage to the car and third-party risk
-Credit card deposit. REX accepts VISA, MASTERCARD, EUROCARD and JCB. Credit cards can be issued by a US bank.
-Unlimited mileage.
-Cars
are delivered with a full tank. Clients will only be charged for the fuel
used: USD 10.00 for each eighth part of a tank. Total value of a full tank:
USD 80.00.
-Only people mentioned in the rental agreement are entitled to drive. REX does not charge for additional drivers.
-REX requires drivers to have a minimum age of 21.
-The client must show his passport and driving license.
-The client, hereinafter referred to as ‘the hirer’, has to return the car in the same condition as he received it.
-REX will take all necessary precautions in order to guarantee the car’s perfect technical condition, and can, therefore, not be held responsible for any unforeseen defect nor for the consequences of such a defect.
-The hirer will have full responsibility for the following types of abuse:
paid
transportation of people or goods.
traction of another car or trailer without permission by REX.
participation in races, endurance or speed tests, etc.
use of the car by unauthorized people.
ransportation of inflammable or explosive materials.
use for illegal activities.
driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medicines, etc.
-The hirer is not allowed to change or modify in any way the car’s interior
nor its exterior. Maintenance and repair will only be done by REX or by parties
appointed by REX.
-The hirer is responsible for the use of the appropriate type of fuel.
-The hirer accepts to pay to REX:
all
additional charges, including insurance charges, fuel, etc.
a maximum deductible of USD 3,000.00 in case of no insurance.
a USD 150.00 deductible for any kind of damage in case of insurance.
all costs inferred by driving under the influence of alcohol, drugs, medicines,
etc.
-In case of an accident or theft, the hirer will:
immediately
notify the police.
fill out the damage claim form and notify REX.
take all possible safety measures to avoid additional damage to the car.
-Clients will deliver the car at Havana City, Varadero, Holguín and

Useful Tips
-Please
read carefully all car rental contract clauses.
-Have the car and accessories checked when you pick up and return the car.
-Do not deliver car keys to another person.
-Only contract holder or additional driver should drive rented car.
-Do not drive under the influence of alcohol. Protect your and other people's
life.
-Traveling
by night is not recommended. Be careful when driving through rural areas as
farm animals may be loose on the road.
-Be careful with bikers on the road, protect their lives.
-Keep the car in safe and well-lit areas.
-Do not leave personal objects inside the vehicle when car is unattended.
-Buy gas only at official gas stations (CUPET, ORO NEGRO, etc.).
-Do not drive when sleepy. Stop for a while and sleep (a 15-min nap may be
enough).
-Fastening your seatbelt is recommended although not compulsory in Cuba.

Children
Children under 12 stay free if they share room with one or two adults. A maximum
or two adults and one child per room is permitted.
Accommodation is provided with the simple presentation of voucher and subject to room availability. If there is no room available, the hotel's desk will secure lodging at the nearest hotel that belong to the program at no extra cost for the customer.
You can make your hotel reservation if you have planned your itinerary. This option is recommended if traveling during the high season.
The Travel Agency will not refund customers for services contracted but not fully used or for loss of lodging and car rental documents or vouchers.
